the haps
i have been busying myself with the preparations for the upcoming shows. i’ve been doing a little knitting too. i don’t knit nearly as much as i should but this go-round i realized that knitting is very benenficial for me. when i crochet something, i can make an item quickly and i find that i try and crank out as many pieces as possible. knitting forces me to slow down. i listen to the clicking sound the needles make and i drift off into space. it truly is meditation for me.
i’m currently working on some wool hats. pom-poms. i love them so. you will see pom-poms on some hats this fall. and mitts! i haven’t made mitts in a while, so i’m going to make some of those too. at some point, i will need to invest in a knitting machine. maybe a weaving loom too.
i sold a hat yesterday and i’m really excited about this sale because one of my felicia’s will be traveling to australia! butta.fly wears is international! woo!
alright, i need to get in bed. before i go, i will leave you with this etsy find: essimar.
New Festival…
Greetings,
I will have some pieces at the 1st Annual Conscious Living Festival. It’s this Saturday, July 26 on the Denali Parkstrip (downtown) from 11am-5pm.
I’m really excited about this fair because the food vendors are required to sell vegan foods. I also heard there will be someone there speaking about the raw foods lifestyle.
Remember also that on August 9th, I will have a booth at the Renewable Energy Fair (also on the Parkstrip).
I hope you all are enjoying the weather and keeping dry. There has been nothing but gray skies and rain the last few days in Anchorage.
Blessings to you,
lady b.fly
B.flywears @ the Energy Fair!
Greetings all,
Just wanted to let you know that Butta.fly Wears will be at the Alaska Renewable Energy Fair. The fair will be August 9th, 11am-9pm on the Park Strip.
You can get more info at the Renewable Energy Alaska Project (REAP) website.
Hope to see you there!
a step closer…
i started learning how to spin last summer. i’d just do it here and there whenever spirit moved me. life has been quite stressful lately and the itch to spin had returned. it took a few hours to get reacquainted with it, but i think i got the hang of it now.
my plan is to include my own handspun yarn into my pieces. this merino lovelyness is going to be made into a neckwarmer.
shop update
Greetings,
I just added these to the shop. They are made with a cotton-acrylic blend yarn, so it’s soft and will keep your head cool.
I’m currently working on some lightweight cotton scarves. I hope to have a couple added to the shop next week.
